Overview/Privacy

What this site knows about you.

Short version: Physoly publishes aggregate production usage and cohort metrics, but does not use advertising trackers or build cross-site profiles. Your personal practice history stays in your browser, and your name or email is requested only when you choose to apply to a cohort.

§ 01 What is collected

Your diagnostic answers

To produce your report and to map each wrong choice to a named reasoning trap.

A personal copy is retained in this browser. Published usage totals are aggregate and do not display your answers.

An anonymous id

A random string that groups your own attempts together so a later attempt can be compared with an earlier one. It is not derived from personal details and does not reveal your identity by itself.

This browser, for continuity between your own attempts.

Ladder progress and feedback

To remember which rungs you have cleared, and to improve the problems.

A personal copy is retained in this browser; aggregate activity totals do not include your name or email.

Cohort application details

Name, email, and optionally grade, school, country and goals — only if you choose to complete the cohort form.

A browser copy is created first. Physoly receives it only when you use the displayed form or email action.

§ 02 Where it is stored

Your browser keeps a personal copy of answers, progress and reports inlocalStorage. That copy does not follow you to another computer or browser, and clearing site data deletes it from this device.

The totals on the Impact and Methodology pages are aggregate production metrics compiled from Physoly usage and cohort records. Public reporting separates reach, diagnostic completions, practice activity, and matched cohort outcomes; it does not expose individual answers or identify a learner. If you send a cohort application, the receiving form or email service stores the contact details you chose to provide so the team can respond.

§ 03 Your age

This site is written for high-school and early-college physics students. You can take the diagnostic and use every lesson without giving any personal detail at all — nothing on this site requires an account.

The cohort application form is the only place that asks for your name and email. If you are under 13, please ask a parent or guardian before filling it in. If you are under 18, it is worth telling them either way.

§ 04 Delete your data

You can delete the personal copies held by this browser at any time. This control shows exactly what is stored on this device. It does not delete an application you already sent; use the contact address below for that request.

§ 05 Questions or requests

For anything about your data — including a request to delete details you sent through the cohort form — write to [email protected].

How the measurement works — including the boundary around each public claim — is documented separately.
